ABOUT THIS POLICY
This Cookie Policy tells you what to expect when our website collects personal information. It applies to the information we collect about our visitors, and those who may be able to login to our websites. This cookie policy spans across all websites operated by MJT Securities Ltd.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
“Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website places on your computer’s hard drive while you’re viewing websites operated by MJT Securities Ltd. (referred to from here on out as ‘our site’), which can be used at a later time by the website to identify particular devices and thereby remember your website preferences and log in details.
Most cookies won’t collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how users arrive at and use our websites, or a user’s general location. Cookies also help us run our site better and faster and they let you navigate between pages more efficiently.
We may use ‘session’ cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and ‘persistent’ cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our site. In plain English, this means we use cookies so that we can provide our services, understand how they are used, and for advertising/analytics purposes.
Also, Cookies that we set are called “first party cookies”, while cookies set by other parties are called “third party cookies”. Third party cookies enable features or functionality from such third parties to be provided on our site. The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognise your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites (see below…)
WHY ARE COOKIES NEEDED?
Cookies make websites work better and they are a standard part of most modern websites. For example, they remember the items you’ve placed in your online shopping cart so that the items appear at the checkout when you make your purchase. Another example would be when you login to webmail services such as Hotmail or Gmail: on such occasions a cookie is generated that confirms you are logged in and when you log off, the cookie is deleted. This means if someone goes back to your webmail address on your computer, you will still be logged out – and they won’t be able to read your emails.
HOW WE COLLECT COOKIES
Before cookies are placed on your computer or device you will be shown a pop-up requesting your consent to set such cookies as detailed below. By giving us your consent, you are allowing us to provide the best possible experience of our website. You may refuse consent to cookies; however, certain parts of our website may then not function correctly.
We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns which does not identify any individual.
We will also collect data from you when you contact us via the website.
We do not make any attempt to discover the identities of anyone who visits our website, and we will not associate any of the data gathered from our website with any personally identifiable information from any source. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

What types of cookies do we use?
The categories cookies and pixel tags used on our site are described in the table below.
Type | Description and purpose | Where used | |
Strictly Necessary Cookies | These cookies are deemed essential because they enable user movement around our website and provide access to features such as your profile and purchases and other secure areas of the website.
Strictly Necessary Cookies do not gather information about you that could be used for marketing purposes and do not remember when you have been on the internet. All strictly necessary cookies are deemed persistent and cannot be disabled. |
||
Functional Cookies | These cookies allow our sites to remember choices you make (such as your username, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, personalised features.
For instance, a website may be able to provide you with local weather reports or traffic news by storing in a cookie the region in which you are currently located. These cookies may also be used to provide services you have asked for, such as watching a video. |

Targeting and Advertising Cookies | We also use a marketing database management program that deploy a cookie when a client interacts with a marketing communication, such as a marketing email or a marketing bases landing page on our website. This cookie collects personal data, such as your name, which pages you visit on our website and your history arriving at our website. Collected information is used to evaluate the effectiveness or our marketing campaigns or to provide better targeting for marketing.
These cookies record your visit to our site, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make our website and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. Acuity Platform cookies are used to hold the advertising ID of users on their mobile device and used for tracking user actions. Audience Manager cookies help perform basic functions such as visitor identification, ID synchronization, segmentation, modelling, and reporting. We use the online advertising program Google AdWords, operated by Google Inc. (“Google”) and Google remarketing technology. Google AdWords conversion tracking cookies are placed when a user clicks on an advertisement delivered by Google (“Ads”). Conversion tracking cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. Google uses a different cookie for each Google AdWords customer and there is no consolidation of the cookie data with other data. If you click on one of our Ads and proceed to a page equipped with a conversion tag and the cookie has not yet expired, the conversion is documented. With the help of the conversion tracking cookie we see the total number of conversions and are able to review the performance of our Ads. You can find more information about Google AdWords here. Bing cookies collect anonymous information about how visitors use our site to determine what ads to show on the site that may be relevant to the site visitor perusing the site. Google uses a cookie called ‘NID’ in their browser. When you visit a Google service, the browser sends this cookie with your request. It contains a unique ID where Google remembers your preferences and other information. Twitter acts as a social networking service for both advertising and tracking our traffic (both for sponsored content [ads] and our organic posts). YouTube collects user data through videos embedded in websites, which is aggregated with profile data from other Google services in order to display targeted advertising to web visitors across a broad range of their own and other websites. YouTube cookies act as a unique identifier to track viewing of videos. |

Similar technologies
Aside from cookies, we also use something called “pixel tags” — otherwise known as clear GIFs or web beacons. Pixel tags are tiny graphic images with unique identifiers, similar to cookies, that are used to recognise when someone has visited our site or opened an email that we have sent them. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, pixel tags are embedded invisibly in web pages. They can analyse web traffic patterns from one page within our site to another, communicate with cookies, and understand whether you came to our site from an online advertisement or post displayed on a third-party website. We do not tie information gathered by pixel tags to our users’ personal information. Among other uses, they enable us to compile statistics about usage of our sites, so that we can manage our content more effectively. We use the Facebook pixel tag on the MJT Securities Limited Websites to build up a ‘Custom Audience’ based on people who visit our website, so we can target more relevant and effective Facebook advertising campaigns. Please refer to Facebook for more information.
You are advised that content distribution partners such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube, may store the information collected by them for their own purposes in accordance with their cookie policies, such as for targeting ads and for product development and analytics. Content distribution partners may also share information with their partners.
